The Incident:  PGA President Ted Bishop

The PGA of America president Ted Bishop lashed out at Ian Poulter on Twitter calling him a ‘lil girl’ for Poulter’s criticism of Nick Faldo in his new autobiography No Limits. (1)

The Outcome:

The PGA of America board of directors voted to remove Bishop from office.  The board deemed his remarks inconsistent with the group’s policies. (2) A very senior golf executive lost his position for what was a seemingly harmless joke/comment, as well as he incurred image and brand damage. The PGA received negative public response, as did Mr. Bishop.
